Local seniors are encouraged to 'Live Life' and celebrate the City of Canterbury’s month long Seniors Week from 10 March to 4 April 2014.

Council will be holding over 40 events that will show local seniors that it’s never too late to learn new skills, meet new people or find a new hobby.

The City of Canterbury has turned Seniors Week into one of the largest celebrations in the State and we've extended Seniors Week into a month long festival. The theme 'Live Life' celebrates being active, healthy and independent as well as getting involved in your community.

Council has put together a fun-filled, interesting program with over 40 events that will give seniors opportunities to "live life" and learn new skills, meet new people or find a new hobby.

International Women's Day in Our City

International Women's Day

We're inviting all women in our City to Inspire Change by joining us for our International Women's Day event on Thursday 6 March 2014!

All women, especially those of you who are 40 years and over, are welcome to join us for a free morning tea from 10am-12.30pm at the Salvation Army Hall, 23 Anglo Road, Campsie on 6 March 2014.

Guest speakers Sahar Elsemary & Rabia Charouk will be attending the event.

Riverwood Autumn Fair this Saturday!


Autumn is here and the Riverwood Community Centre is inviting you to the Riverwood Autumn Fair this coming Saturday 8 March from 9am-3pm!

There will be a skate board competition, pet competition, chocolate wheel, over 100 stalls, kids alley - rides, fun castle and face painting, Op-shop, handmade crafts, entertainment - martial art display, bands, tai chi, school performances, belly dancing, oriental dance, and a raffle draw!.

Happiness Cycle

The Happiness Cycle is a pioneering and innovative program developed in Australia to get teens physically active through cycling.

Up to 300 local teenagers will have a chance to earn a brand new bicycle.

Learn about ways to reduce the risk of your business becoming a target of crime at our Business Safety Seminar.

The seminar will be held on Wednesday 12 March 2014 from 6pm at Lakemba Senior Citizen Centre.
